How to get up on a wakeboard.
Learning how to wakeboard can be a fun and exciting new skill to learn on the water. The first thing you are going to want to do is determine which foot you would like to ride with forward. Most people ride left foot forward, riding right foot forward is considered riding “goofy”. If you ride a snowboard or skateboard this will be the same. There is no right or wrong way, just your preference, generally with your dominant foot in back. You may have to try out both before knowing what feels the best.
You’ll want to start in the water crouched down with the board in front of you facing the boat. Keep the board horizontal while you are in the water and getting up. You should have your arms extended and around your knees while in the water. Let your driver know when you are ready. Let the boat do all the work to pull you up, don’t stand up too quickly. Once the boat is on plane your fins will want to move your desired foot forward. Once you are up, you can start to play around with cutting to different sides of the wake.
